Guest Rooms

The Hudspeth House in Canyon, Texas is nestled in the downtown square district and only 15 minutes away from Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Built in 1909, this historic bed and breakfast is one of the most prominent structures in Canyon. The historic house blends classic charm with modern sensibilities. Every room has its own special features and an ensuite bathroom. Please be aware rooms are located on the second and third floor. Guests will need to maneuver stairs. Our accommodations are best suited for adults and/or children five and older.

To Make a Reservation

  1. Using our online reservation system, you can check room availability for any desired dates and submit an immediate reservation. We do require a credit card deposit to confirm your reservation. Cancellations the day of will incur half the cost of the reservation.

  2. Room check-in begins at 3 P.M. Guests arriving after 6 P.M. will need to call 1-970-769-7172 for check-in information.

o’keeffe Room – 2nd Floor

Named for the famed artist, Georgia O’Keeffe, who dined at Hudspeth House while she was a teacher at West Texas University, this room has a king-sized bed and large bathroom with a clawfoot tub and walk-in shower.

Canyon Sunrise room – 2nd Floor

This beautiful room with a king-sized bed and bath with tub and shower unit is located on the eastern side of the house, and is filled with soft light from the east and north.

bluebonnet room – 2nd Floor

Located at the top of the first flight of stairs, this sweet, cozy room with a queen-sized bed and painted in a soft, delicate blue recalls the bluebonnets of Texas. It is a combination of antique furniture and modern engineering.

Randall Room – 2nd Floor

This 2nd floor room was originally created as the servant’s quarters. Nestled at the back of the house with a private stair, the dècor celebrates the aura of the Lone Star State.

eagle’s nest room – 3rd Floor

On the top floor (two flights up) Eagle’s Nest is the largest room in the house. With one king-sized bed, one twin bed and a huge bathroom, this room will accommodate a small family or a couple of close friends.

lighthouse room – 3rd Floor

Named for the famous hoodoo rock formation in Palo Duro Canyon, this room is located at the back of the top floor (two flights up). With a queen-sized bed and clawfoot tub, it is the perfect getaway space.

prairie light – 1st Floor (Special REquest)

Located on the first floor, Prairie Light was formerly the master bedroom of the house. It has a grand old-world elegance with a king-sized bed, small cafe table and chairs, antique decorative fireplace and private bath with tub and shower unit.

Amenities & room Policies

While all of the rooms are uniquely decorated, each one has luxurious linens and towels. Each space, which includes refreshing soaps and shampoos in the bathroom area, has its own specific color scheme.
